No Hassle Traveling: Accessories for easy travel

Do you love or dread traveling? I love landing in a new destination, not knowing what to expect or what I’ll see. I hate the going-to-the-airport-and-getting-through-security part. Maybe you already know all the ins and outs of packing liquids in your carry-on.

Here are some of my favorite items to make your life – and travel – much easier.

Keep your passports safe and your luggage tagged with this handsome set. Passport cover and luggage tag set, $20

Toss them in your bag and slip them on for the plane ride. Makes a great bridesmaid gift! Ballet flats in custom embroidered bag, $24

I put all my toiletries in there too! Men’s micro fiber toiletry bag, $27

4th of July Recipes: Red, White and Blue all over!

It’s almost here! When I was a kid I couldn’t wait to see the sky light up with fireworks and the smell (which I think is disgusting now) of residual gunpowder in the air. I would think that the fiery stars were going to fall right on top of me as faded and fell away. Now I love preparing for the big night with a cook out and some delicious recipes. What’s your favorite 4th of July ritual?

I found some really fun food and drinks to share with the kids. Enjoy!

A few more fun 4th of July food tips:

  • Have the kids dip their ice cream sandwiches and cones in red, white and blue sprinkles. An instant holiday treat!
  • Cut the sugar in half and give them a fun, fizzy drink by mixing blue fruit punch with sparkling water.
  • Stock up on healthy goodies and eat some thing red, white or blue with your meals for the holiday: blueberries on cereal, red peppers on pizza, coconut flakes in yogurt.
  • Freeze (sliced) strawberries, raspberries and blackberries in your ice cubes for a fun surprise as you sip your drinks.

How Did You Propose?

This is one of those moments that will be told over and over again in stories so you want to get it right. If you’ve already done it, I want to hear how you proposed to her. Was it the most nerve-wracking moment of your life or was it a total breeze? I barely remember mine, I was too elated to mutter anything intelligent.

I had the best idea the other day. What about a proposal spelled out?

Our love letter dishes look amazing for just about any occasion. And don’t forget to enter our contest to tell us or show us how you’d use our dishes for an event! You’ll have a chance to win a $75 gift certificate! (through June 30th, 2012)

I just had to snap a shot of my toesies (in Butter’s West End Hollywood nail polish – a fantastic bride color!) in these crazy cute “just married” flip flops. I’ve been to too many weddings where my feet hurt so much from dancing by the end of the night I ended up going barefoot or hiding my feet under the tablecloth. Take care of your guests by gifting these adorable favors – for the ladies and men!

A Party Fit for a Princess: Sweet 16s and Quinceaneras

Do you remember your 12th, 13th, 16th birthday? It’s all kind of a blur to me. Maybe it’s because I was always in such a hurry to grow up…

Birthdays should be celebrated. What ever the number, they’re just as good as holidays if you ask me, if not better. I love a great excuse to get friends and family together and eat lots of food. And cake. Girls tend to enjoy the idea most: getting dressed up, being the center of attention. Take for instance all the rites of passage in different cultures, Sweet 16, bat mitzvahs, quinceaneras. Even though the celebrated ages are different (16, 13 and 15, respectively), the ideas is the same. What birthday did you start to feel like an adult? Treat your next young lady to a beautiful gift for her special day!

1. Fit for a princess! Rhinestone scepter, $42 | 2. Top the cake in style. Mis Quince Anos cake topper, $33  |  3. Party ready and age-appropriate. So Modern Love dress, Free People, $350  |  4.Cece suede ballet flat, JCrew, $128  |  5. Sweet 16 signing pillow, $18

Mix n’ Match Party Looks: Birthday, Anniversary, Shower

I hate to be the gal that sits there and laments that I have “nothing to wear” to the party but sometimes I am. But you understand, right? I mean, how many times can you be photographed in the same tribal print maxi dress? I think separates are the way to go. You don’t want the wrapping paper to make a bigger statement than you but you can’t buy a new outfit every time someone has a ____________ (insert major life milestone).

I created a handy chart with some awesome basics that you can mix and match for each occasion. Choose one of each and you’re on your way to looking chic. Toss on some different jewelry, wear your hair up and you’re good to go. Good luck!

1. Spotlight knit crop top, French Connection, $68.99  |  2. Cowl neck cap sleeve top, Ann Taylor, $39.50  |  3. Layered one shoulder top, BCBGeneration, $58  |  4. Pencil skirt in Super 120s, JCrew, $118  |  5. Goddess side zip skirt, Ann Taylor, $78  |  6. Jayne skirt, Club Monaco, $159.50  |  7. Rachel Comey wedge slingbacks, $425  |  8. Diane von Furstenberg Opal suede wedge, $298  |  9. Brian Atwood Fracoise pump, $395
